What Happened

Calhoun County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at State Rd 71 in Calhoun County, FL on May 20th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 8 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck headed northbound is said to have turned right, causing its cargo of logs to fall onto the southbound lanes. The truck collided with another vehicle in the process while two additional vehicle collided with the logs in the roadway. Reports indicate a 61-year-old Marianna man, who was not publicly identified, was fatally injured in the crash. Authorities did not have additional information available.
