What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at Florida Turnpike in Boynton Beach, FL on July 22nd, 2021. Police say the incident involved a semi-truck operated by a 66-year-old man reportedly failed to control its speed in stopping traffic. It crashed into two cars before going over a concrete bridge and into a canal were it also hit a boat and its passengers. The driver of one of the cars died after it was crushed and caught fire in the collision. The truck driver also died. The driver of the other car that was struck was treated for minor injuries.
