What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at State Rd 70 and County Rd 29 in Highlands County, FL on March 23rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Subaru station wagon headed westbound collided with a semi-truck that pulled into its path while making a left turn. The driver of the Subaru, a 48-year-old male and his 81-year-old female passenger, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
