What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at US Hwy 301 in Thonotosassa, FL on April 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:53 a.m. Their initial investigation revealed an SUV operated by an unidentified 32-year-old woman was headed northbound when it allegedly crossed a center line for unknown reasons and collided with a southbound pickup truck. Shortly after, a tractor-trailer collided with the SUV as well as an individual that stopped to help with the crash and another vehicle. The driver of the SUV died at the scene. The Good Samaritan that stopped to help was taken to an area hospital and later died. The driver and a passenger in the pickup truck suffered serious injuries.
