What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed two people at Floyd County, GA on June 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened at a construction site for a private residence. A truck at the site was reportedly being loaded with asphalt when it began to roll downhill. It struck 19-year-old Cody Hauser and 21-year-old John Hunter Lane before also hitting an excavator. Both Hauser and Lane suffered fatal injuries when the truck struck the excavator they were in. The occupants of the runaway truck, Samuel Hancock and Albert Starr, were both hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not yet available.
