What Happened

State Police are investigating a collision that injured a driver at I-16 in Twiggs County, GA on June 22nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened when a log truck passenger a second truck that suffered a tire blowout. The blowout caused the truck to veered from the road down a shoulder and into a creek below, trapping the driver. Once freed, the driver was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
