What Happened

Georgia State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at I-75 in Albany, GA on March 26th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:42 p.m. According to investigators, a passenger vehicle headed southbound on I-75 collided with rear of a passenger car under unclear circumstances. It then cross over the southbound lanes into a traffic barrier wall, pushing the car between the truck and the wall. Both vehicles caught fire, causing serious burns to the occupant of the car. The driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer, identified as John Jewell-Barrett and Alyssa Jewell-Barrett, both died at the scene. No additional information was available.
