What Happened

Georgia State Patrol officials are investigating a collision that killed a couple at I-20 near Augusta, GA on September 3rd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:11 a.m. A pickup truck occupied by an elderly couple reportedly pulled in front of a semi-truck and the two collided causing the vehicle to catch fire. The pickup truck had previously been exiting a gas station and the male driver and female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
