What Happened

State Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that killed a construction worker at Kennedy Expressway in Chicago, IL on November 4th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9 p.m. According to reports, 54-year-old Francisco Padilla-Gutierrez was utilizing a mechanical lift while performing maintenance on the roadway when it was struck by a tractor-trailer. Following the collision, reports say the tractor-trailer left the area, two other vehicles colliding after. Padilla-Gutierrez was fatally injured in the crash.
