Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-55 in McLean County, IL on July 28th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. A tanker truck operated by a 63-year-old Mascoutah man reportedly failed to control its speed at traffic began to slow in a back up. It then collided with a stopped semi-truck. The Mascoutah man suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The 57-year-old Mishicot, WI man in the semi-truck was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
