Morris Police are investigating a crash that killed one person at Route 47 in Morris, IL on June 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. According to investigators, a vehicle they allege was traveling at a high rate of speed collided with the rear of a semi-truck stopped at a red light. The collision seriously injured the driver of the vehicle, identified as 32-year-old Narciso Vela. Vela was taken to an area hospital for treatment and later died of his injuries. A passenger in the truck, identified as 46-year-old Roy Ean, was also hospitalized with unknown injuries. Additional information was not available.
