What Happened

Illinois State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at  I-55 in McLean County, IL on December 28th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:49 p.m. A semi-truck headed southbound on I-55 when it collided with the rear of a Ford Explorer that was disabled in a right traffic lane with active hazard lights. The driver of the Ford, identified as 43-year-old Rickey M Washington Jr, died at the scene. The driver of the truck was hospitalized with minor injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
