Illinois State Police are investigating a crash that killed two people at I-57 near Mount Vernon, IL on December 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:32 p.m. A GM Sierra was headed northbound when it reportedly collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer stopped in the shoulder.
