What Happened

State Police identified the woman killed in a crash that also killed a child at US 30 in Wanatah, IN on October 4th, 2022. Police say it happened just before 8 a.m. A tractor-trailer leaving a truck stop is said to have had its trailer detach from the tractor under unclear circumstances. Once detached, it was struck by an approaching vehicle operated by 36-year-old Angela Oehmen, who suffered fatal injuries. A 14-year-old in the vehicle also died while a second teen was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The truck driver, a 47-year-old Fulton man, was uninjured.
