What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-65 in Jackson County, IN on March 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. Investigators say a Toyota passenger car heading southbound when it suffered possible mechanical issues and came to a stop in a right hand driving lane. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Erika Jimenez, reportedly exited the vehicle and was standing near the vehicle as a box truck approached. The truck collided with Jimenez and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The box truck driver was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
