What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-69 in Grant County, IN on August 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:45 p.m. near Gas City. Officials say two semi-trucks, a box truck and two passenger cars were involved in a collision that occurred under unclear circumstances. It has been alleged one of the semi-trucks may have failed to stop before colliding with the rear of one of the vehicles involved. One person in the vehicle that was struck died at the scene. Police say there were no other injuries reported and did not have additional information.
