What Happened

State Police have confirmed the death of a driver in a connection with a crash at I-80 near Shipshewana, IN on February 20th, 2022. They say the incident happened just after midnight. A semi-truck operated by 45-year-old Shamshitdin Nuridinov was reportedly pulled over to the side of the road after allegedly running out of fuel when it was struck by a second semi-truck operated by 35-year-old Joseph Jett. The truck is said to have veered through a guardrail and into Nuridinov nearby. Nuridinov was pronounced dead at the scene while Jett was reportedly uninjured. Investigators do not believe alcohol played a factor in the crash. Additional details were not available.
