Iowa State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-29 in Harrison County, IA on August 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9 a.m. Investigators believe a northbound SUV operated by 61-year-old Chris Sweetman was struck by a semi-truck. It was alleged the semi-truck traveled over a median and into the northbound lane before striking the SUV. Sweetman suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The operator of the semi-truck, identified as 63-year-old Gino Lollio, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
