What Happened

Iowa State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-80 in Cedar County, IA on October 27th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:10 a.m. A semi-truck operated by 38-year-old Reynold Madara was re-entering the road after going into the shoulder to secure a tarp on the cargo when it was struck in the rear by a semi-truck operated by 52-year-old Jan Bisek. Both trucks veered from the road after impact into a ditch and Bisek suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
