State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at Old Hwy 34 in Mt Pleasant, IA on March 22nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:10 a.m. According to investigators, a garbage truck headed westbound is said the have veered from the road for unknown reasons before overturning into a ditch. 65-year-old John Thornton suffered fatal injuries in the crash. 47-year-old Michael Hines was taken to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
