Area authorities are investigating a two vehicle collision that injured two drivers at Grant Rd and 12th St in Carroll County, IA on November 12th, 2021. Officials ay the incident happened around 3:39 p.m. After previously stopping at a posted stop sign, a school bus operated by 73-year-old Paul Richard Dern is said to have pulled out at the intersection into the path of a Honda Element operated by 57-year-old Lon Denis Leiting. After the two vehicles collided, both drivers reportedly complained of minor injuries and Leiting was hospitalized via private vehicles. There were no reported injuries to any students aboard the bus and Dern was cited for Failure to Obey Stop or Yield Sign.
