What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-80 in Cedar County, IA on February 16th, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 9:20 a.m. Investigators believe a semi-truck headed westbound crashed through a cable barrier into eastbound traffic and collided head-on with a Ford F-150. The driver of the Ford, 71-year-old Steven Michael Dolezal, suffered fatal injuries. His passenger and the semi-truck driver were both hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Police believe all three individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
