What Happened

Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 283 in Graham County, KS on August 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened when a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt operated by 35-year-old Cody J Johnson crossed a center line and collided with a northbound semi-truck. The vehicle veered from the road and came to rest in a ditch. Johnson suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver, 75-year-old Kenneth L Shemper, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
