What Happened

Kanas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at Kansas 18 near Moore's Ln in Riley County, KS on July 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. According to investigators, a dump truck operated by 25-year-old Cole Story was headed westbound before leaving the roadway for unknown reasons. Police say the truck lost control while attempting to correct back onto the roadway, causing it to travel into a nearby ditch. The vehicle then overturned, crashing through a fence before hitting a culvert in an embankment. Officials say Story was taken to an area hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries and had no additional information to share.
