What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 160 in Stanton County, KS on July 11th, 2022. Police say tie incident happened around 9:42 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck operated by 33-year-old Zachary Wester was headed westbound on US 160 before slowing to turn onto a northbound service road. A Chevrolet truck headed westbound operated by 57-year-old Dennis Duwayne Davis was behind the truck and collided with the rear of the truck under unclear circumstances. The impact caused the Chevrolet truck to catch fire and left Davis with fatal injuries at the scene. Wester was reportedly uninjured. Additional information was not available.
