Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured a teen at Hwy 50 near Strong City, KS on July 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1 p.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Frontier headed eastbound is said to have been attempting to pass a semi-truck in a no-pass zone by traveling into a westbound lane. They say it then collided head-on with a second semi-truck operated by 34-year-old Mihail Wendt. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 18-year-old Dylan Chastain, was hospitalized with injuries believed to be serious in nature. Wendt was not injured, according to police.
