What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman at K-96 and Arlington Rd in Reno County, KS on January 10th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around noon. Investigators are saying a Kia Sportage collided with the rear of a semi-truck. The truck, according to reports, was partially blocking a moving lane of travel as its driver assisted another driver who was having car trouble. The crash is said to have caused the drive of the Kia, identified as 23-year-old Jaedyn M. Douglas, to suffer fatal injuries. Her passenger, an individual under the age of 18, had undisclosed injuries. The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 21-year-old Aaron Brewer, was hospitalized with injuries believed to be minor in nature.
