What Happened

Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that injured several people on  I-70 in Topeka, KS on August 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:45 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by 73-year-old Larry Manning was headed eastbound when it lost control for unknown reasons. After crossing multiple traffic lanes, the truck struck and went over a barrier wall, resting in a westbound lane. In the process of this, the truck hit a Subaru Impreza operated by 25-year-old Cooper Rosheim. A second tractor-trailer, operated by 44-year-old Alreado Solano then collided with the rear of the first truck before it lost control and struck a Nissan Rogue operated by 44-year-old Jennifer Loy. Loy, her 16-year-old passenger and all the other drivers were hospitalized with various injuries, some very serious. Additional information was not immediately available.
