What Happened

Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at County Rd 3 and County Rd X in Rooks County, KS on November 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened when a semi-truck failed to yield right of way to a second truck at the intersection. The trucks veered from the road into a field and struck a power pole as a result of the collision. 69-year-old Michael L Towns died in the collision. The second driver, a 28-year-old Great Bend man, was hospitalized with minor injuries. Additional information was not available.
