State Police have information on a collision that injured an officer at I-70 near Ellis, KS on April 26th, 2022. They say it was reported around 8:59 a.m. In their reports, state trooper Shawn W. Summers was investigating a tractor-trailer on the shoulder of eastbound I-70 when an approaching semi-truck failed to move left before crossing a solid white line and colliding with trooper's parked Dodge Challenger. Summers, who was standing outside the vehicle at the time, was struck as the semi veered from the road though a fence. Summers suffered minor injuries in the incident while the driver of the truck, Khadija A. Qadri, was not injured. Additional information was not available.
