What Happened

Kentucky State Police are investigating a crash that injured a person at East Chestnut St in Louisville, KY on June 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:30 a.m. According to investigators, an ambulance was headed eastbound with a patient, en route to an area hospital. It was stated the vehicle had active lights and sirens as it proceeded through a red light at the intersection. As it did so, the vehicle was struck by a northbound semi-truck. An EMT in the back of the ambulance was ejected from the vehicle, suffering suspected life-threatening injuries. Two others, including a patient, were also hospitalized. Additional details have not been made available.
