What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at Pilot Travel Center in Morton's Gap, KY on December 19th, 2023. Officials ay the incident happened around 4 a.m. Investigators say a semi-truck operated by 45-year-old Andy Mena was parked as Mena was sleeping inside. Reports say Mena was awoken by an individual requesting the truck be moved forward for another truck to be able to connect a trailer. After pulling forward, police say the truck was reversing back into its parking spot when it came into contact with the driver of the truck nearby. Reports say that driver, identified as 53-year-old Hershel Cobb, was pinned between the trailers of the trucks and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Authorities had no additional information available.
