What Happened

Somerset Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at Hal Rogers Pkwy in Wayne County, KY on September 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10:08 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado operated by 75-year-old Phillip Turner was reportedly headed northbound when it crossed eastbound lanes to enter westbound lanes of KY 80. It reportedly crossed into the path of a semi-truck and the two vehicles collided. Turner was hospitalized with serious injuries. His passenger, 76-year-old Luta Turner, died at the scene.
