Kentucky State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at KY 97 and Burnetts Rd in Sedalia, KY on June 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:50 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck is believed to have been headed northbound before losing control while rounding a curve in the roadway. They believe the vehicle first struck a utility pole before hitting a concrete culvert. The impact caused the truck to overturn and catch fire. Police say the driver, identified as 62-year-old Mark Smith, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
