State Police are investigating a crash that injured a volunteer firefighter at I-24 in Marshall County, KY on February 23rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened on the Tennessee River Bridge, which investigators say was covered in ice. Police say there was a serious of 7 accidents involving 12 tractor-trailers and six passenger cars colliding in an hour time span. Volunteer firefighter Michael Bynum was responding at the scene when another tractor-trailer lost control and struck Bynum, who pinned against the nearby guardrail. He was hospitalized with serious injuries he is expected to recover from. Additional information was not immediately available.
