What Happened

State Police are investigating a collision that killed two people at US 27 in Garrard County, KY on April 1st, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9 a.m. Officials are saying a tractor-trailer headed eastbound on Old Lexington Rd turned left ahead of an ambulance headed northbound. The two vehicles collided, the collision leaving 26-year-old EMT, Chastian McWhorter, fatally injured. Also killed was 75-year-old ambulance patient, Robert Caudill. An additional passenger in the ambulance, identified as 23-year-old Bailey Haynes, was hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening in nature. Authorities had no additional information available.
