What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two teens at Route 90 in Summer Shade, KY on December 28th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:52 p.m. and involved a semi-truck and pickup truck colliding. Reports allege the semi-truck was headed westbound before losing control for unknown reasons, crossing a center line and colliding with the pickup truck. Police say two high school students occupying the pickup truck were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The truck driver, identified as 56-year-old Shawn Cotales, was allegedly uninjured.
