What Happened

Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-55 in LaPlace, LA on February 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. A Jeep Gladiator operated by 54-year-old Dwayne Robert was headed northbound in a left lane when investigators say it approached a street sweeper convoy. Investigators believe that as the Jeep switched lanes, it drover into the path of an 18-wheeler before collided with the impact absorber attached to a dump truck in the convoy. Robert was ejected from the vehicle in the collision and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
