What Happened

State Police have identified the person killed in a collision at Hwy 5 and Hwy 301 in De Soto Parish, LA on September 13th, 2021. Police say it happened around 11 a.m. an involved a pair of tractor-trailers. One was headed northbound on LA Hwy 5, operated by 42-year-old Chad Sharpley. The other was headed southbound on LA Hwy 5, operated by 37-year-old Lakendrick Thomas. Sharpley's truck is said to have lost control and ended up colliding with Thomas's truck. Thomas suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Sharpley was not injured. Additional information was not available.
