What Happened

Damariscotta Police Department officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Route 1 in Damariscotta, ME on December 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11 a.m. Details surrounding the cause of the crash were not revealed. However, investigators say a Ford Explorer operated by 25-year-old Emilee Mullin collided with a box truck operated by 37-year-old Derick Lavigne. Mullin suffered fatal injuries in the collision. An infant passenger was not injured, however, was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Lavigne was hospitalized with serious injuries. Investigators say all parties were wearing seatbelts.
