Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at I-70 in Hagerstown, MD on October 3rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer is alleged to have failed to slow in heavy traffic before colliding with the rear of a Ford. The impact is said to have pushed into the rear of a Buick, creating a chain reaction crash involving at least two other vehicles. Reports say the driver of the Ford, identified as 27-year-old Morgan Suter, was fatally injured. Two other drivers, 55-year-old Cheri Craigo and 61-year-old Connie Monte, were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Reports say the driver of the truck, identified as 62-year-old Ray Pittman, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while impaired.
