What Happened

State Police have information on a collision that killed a man at M-66 near Battle Creek, MI on October 9th, 2021. Dan Grayeagle had pulled his tractor-trailer over onto a shoulder lane near Golden Avenue and exited the vehicle. He was standing between the cab and the trailer as a pickup truck headed southbound neared. Investigators say the pickup truck was attempting to go around another semi-truck that was slowing to make a turn when it collided with Grayeagle's trailer. The impact caused the trailer to topple onto Grayeagle, causing him fatal injuries. The driver of the pickup truck had minor injuries. Additional information was not available.
