What Happened

Monroe County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-275 in Ash Twp, MI on June 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck was reportedly exiting the freeway when it pulled into the southbound lanes of Telegraph. The truck pulled into the path of a motorcycle operated by 43-year-old Hamza Mohamed and both vehicles collided. Mohamed suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The semi-truck driver, 58-year-old Michael Russell, was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
