What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a bicyclist at State St near Coolidge Ave in Saginaw Twp, MI on November 10th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:15 p.m. Investigators say that witnesses allegedly saw 85-year-old Laverne K Cork riding a bicycle westbound on the south sidewalk on State St before crossing the road towards Linda Street. Several vehicles were forced to stop in the process to avoid colliding with Cox who was allegedly wobbling while on the bicycle. The bike is said to have then struck the side of  westbound school bus and Cox was knocked to the ground, suffering fatal injuries. There were no children on the bus and no other injuries reported.
