What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at N Sturgeon Rd and E Shaffer Rd in Mills Twp, MI on July 7th, 2021. Police say it happened around 2:46 p.m. A Ford F-150 operated by 69-year-old Lawrence Malnar is said to have stopped at an intersection stop sign before failing to yield before proceeding. The truck was then struck on the drivers side by a dump truck. Both Malnar and his wife, 75-year-old Janet Malnar, suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
