What Happened

State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that killed a woman at Hwy 71 in Redwood County, MN on September 1st, 2021. Police say it happened when three vehicles were stopped for a MNDOT flagger. A fourth vehicle was slowing down as well when the vehicles were rear-ended by a tractor-trailer that failed to control its speed. One driver, 92-year-old Mary Ann Olson, died. Four children ages 9 to 15 were injured as well as two adults in their 70's. Additional information was not immediately available.
