What Happened

Missouri State Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at I-44 in Franklin County, MO on August 10th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Investigators are saying a tractor-trailer collided with the rear of a Toyota Avalon stopped in traffic. The impact is said to have pushed a Nissan Sentra into a tractor-trailer, which pushed that truck into another truck. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 25-year-old Bailey Snider as well as the driver of the Nissan, identified as 32-year-old Chelsea Smith, were both fatally injured. Reports say a 5-year-old child in the Nissan was also fatally injured. Additional informaiton was not immediately available.
