What Happened

Missouri State Police are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Hwy 63 in Kirksville, MO on June 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1 p.m. Investigators are saying a passenger vehicle was stopped when a truck ahead attempted a left turn. A semi-truck ahead operated by 65-year-old Roy Peterson is said to have failed to stop and collided with the rear of the passenger vehicle, sending both vehicles veering from the road. The driver of the passenger car,  46-year-old Joseph Kassens, suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Additional details were not available.
