What Happened

State Police are investigating a collision that killed a man at Hwy 19 in Ralls County, MO on November 30th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:15 a.m. 55-year-old Melvin Hisel had reportedly been walking along a northbound lane of Hwy 19 while utilizing a cane to offset what was said to have been an injured ankle before he somehow stumbled onto the edge of the road. An approaching tractor-trailer collided with Hisel before he was able to be assisted by another motorist, suffering fatal injuries in the collision.
