What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at I-435 in Kansas City, MO on March 15th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 5:09 a.m. Investigators say a Nissan Versa was stopped eastbound on I-435 when it was rear ended by a Ford Explorer owned by the Kansas City Fire Department. The Nissan was next struck by a semi-truck, a passenger in the rear of the Nissan suffering fatal injuries at the scene. A front seat passenger was hospitalized with injuries they later died from. The drivers of the Nissan and Ford were both hospitalized with injuries believed to be serious in nature. Additional information was not immediately available.
